The rollout of SpamBrain
. . . . . . . . . . . .

Last week [12 January 2023] Google officially announced that the rollout of its Link Spam update had been completed.
The purpose of the update is to improve spam detection and protect Google users from poor quality content. The update features Google’s AI-based spam-prevention system called SpamBrain. It is designed to better identify and nullify unnatural links on websites – and Google believes it will keep 99% of its search results spam-free.
This means there are significant implications for websites that have used or are using ‘spammy’ link building tactics. We think this could affect many legitimate business websites that unwittingly embraced link building in the past in the hope it would improve rankings.
The new algorithm update will push websites that received undue advantage due to ‘bought’ backlinks down the rankings. If you feel this could affect you then start to benchmark your rankings and see how they’re affected. You can read more about SpamBrain on their website here.
