New website for Devon & Somerset Marquees

. . . . . . . . . . . .

The pandemic has been a tough period for companies in the hospitality sector. But despite losing a significant market through the cancellation of weddings and corporate events, Devon & Somerset Marquees has invested in building its brand presence.

Having had a relationship with Oxygen for some time, they also asked us to rebuild their website – for three reasons.

1. Ensure their website was relevant for their customers

Like any business, the type of work and clients you build over time changes. Devon & Somerset Marquees have provided marquee hire and facilities for hundreds of weddings, and are well-known for this. However they also provide a great service to businesses – whether they’re hosting a corporate event or putting up marquees at festivals and business/agricultural shows.

Their old website failed to make this skillset clear – and the navigation was complex and hard to use. Now it’s easy to use, well signposted and packed with the right information.

2. Ensure the website made it simple to enquire about their services

It should be obvious that most websites are there to generate leads. But some people forget that, and place too much emphasis on the design. Now their website provides everything people need to enquire – from appropriate testimonials to an enquiry form that asks all the right questions.

3. Ensure the website gets good search results

Their old website performed reasonably well on search engines, but there is always room for improvement. We have monitored keywords for some time, and within a few weeks of going live 70% of the keyphrases we follow have moved up on Google, and 13 of those 15 are now on page 1. This will be key to our client getting more solid, relevant enquiries.
