Oxygen gives lesson on design to local primary school
Oxygen attended Castle Primary School in Tiverton on Wednesday (8th March) to give students a brief introduction to logo design and branding.
The lesson was to aid a group of Year 5 students with their Jaguar Primary School Challenge, in which students are challenged to design the fastest race car. As well as the design of the car, students create logos for their teams and marketing material such as branded t-shirts and ‘pit-stop’ information boards.
Oxygen Graphic Designer Emma Fowle attended to teach the basics of creating a logo, and where to place that logo on items such as t-shirts and hats. The lesson also covered how the students could lay out their pit-stop boards, including where to add their sponsors logos.
Katy Plumley, Castle Primary School Year 5 teacher, said: “It’s been a fantastic opportunity for the children to see a Graphic Designer in action. The children have taken all advice on board and have some very eye-catching logos. It is so important for children to see how the skills they are learning in school can be transferred to the ‘real world’ and they have been really inspired today. We thank Oxygen for their time and support.”
