Oxygen secures second Downing Street endorsement
The Oxygen Agency has once again found their creative skills the talk of Downing Street.
The team has designed and produced a new web toolkit for The National Custom and Self Build Association (NaCSBA) that is part of series of measures launched on Wednesday 9 December at high-level Downing Street summit to urge local council leaders to become the ‘champions’ of self and custom build housing.
Present at the summit were the Housing and Planning Minister Brandon Lewis MP, Lord Porter, the chair of the Local Government Associations and prominent house-building expert Kevin McCloud among a number of other senior politicians.
The online toolkit provides detailed technical advice for local authorities to support communities that want to build their own home.
Commenting on the new toolkit at the launch, Kevin McCloud said: “The new toolkit will help councils in the UK understand the numerous ways they can facilitate more opportunities. It will also be invaluable to housing associations, communities that want to build together and to small builders and developers that are keen to support this emerging sector.”
The toolkit is the second site the team at The Oxygen Agency has worked upon for NaCSBA, having initially designed their self-build portal in 2010, targeting the general public. Ted Stevens, former NaCSBA Chairman and self-build evangelist, said: “Once again Oxygen displayed a thorough understanding of the brief and provided a logical solution to the dissemination of a vast amount of information. The toolkit has received significant applause today at Downing Street.”
The Oxygen Agency won the pitch against two other agencies and has spent the last few months working closely with the NaCSBA to develop the portal.
Malcolm Buttel, Creative Director at The Oxygen Agency stated: “It has been a pleasure working on such an important project for the custom and self build industry. Our creatives and web developers worked well together devising the solution, and it is a great end to the year to celebrate our work once again, making an impact at the highest level in number 10.”
