Nautisk appoints Oxygen to global account

Digital navigation systems provider Nautisk has appointed The Oxygen Agency to lead its global PR and marketing account.

The Norwegian business is part of the £100m turnover NHST Media Group, and among the world’s leading distributors of digital and paper-based nautical charts and publications.

Simon Gliddon, Head of New Business Development at Nautisk, said: “Nautisk is leading the way in developing digital technologies for shipping companies and mariners across the world, and we’re in a great position to capitalise on our investment.

“Oxygen has demonstrated a crucial understanding of our business and our sector and can provide the integrated marketing capability that we have been looking for. Most importantly they ‘get’ the Norwegian way, and understand how we tick.

“Oxygen will be spearheading our global communications, handling PR and social media output, planning and implementing DM and email campaigns, and maximising our impact online. They are completely transparent in the way they work and cost – which is a refreshing approach from a full-service agency.”

Oxygen’s Publicity Director, Katie Sanders, believes that Oxygen’s retained services will give Nautisk a highly focused and cost-effective suite of services.

She said: “It is vital that a business in the digital space like Nautisk has a fully-integrated approach to its communications. Working on a retained basis will allow them to access all of our services and benefit from our broad sector experience and knowledge. We’re looking forward to a long and rewarding relationship.”
