The Federation of Small Businesses holds its 2012 conference in Scarborough from 22 – 24 March. Steve Lodge, managing director of Oxygen Creative, is vice chair of the Mid Devon branch of the FSB. This year he will be speaking at the conference alongside Neil Vaughn of Really Wild Entreprises on the topic of start-up businesses.
Steve proposed a motion in 2010 – http://www.fsb.org.uk/conference2010/motion-2 – when he was slotted between George Osbourne MP and Lord Mandelson. This year he won’t have that pressure as he proposes the motion to delegates prior to the big guns hitting the stage.
This year former Olympic Silver Medallist, Roger Black will help to motivate small firms to grow and innovate in his inspirational speech to close the conference in Scarborough. Small businesses will be able to fire questions at a Question Time panel chaired by TV presenter and journalist Selina Scott, with panellists including FSB Policy Chairman, Mike Cherry, Julian Smith MP, Bernard Ginns, Business Editor of the Yorkshire Post and Rt Hon Caroline Flint.
Political key speakers will also include Vince Cable MP and Ed Balls MP.
