Oxygen has created a new website for the UK Cohousing Network (UKCN).
Our agency won the national tender to complete the work at the end of 2016, and was required to develop a complex website that features a social-media style environment for UKCN members.
The website contains information on both the UK Cohousing Network and UK Cohousing Trust, and is a one-stop-shop for everything people need to know about and embrace the concept of Cohousing in the UK. The organisation received funding from the Big Lottery Accelerating Ideas pilot to support the development of the new website, which includes videos, news articles and research, as well as the new area dedicated to UKCN members.
The members’ area allows people to manage their membership, connect with other UKCN members and browse through other cohousing groups and properties. Existing Cohousing communities can look for new members and whether they are in the stages of purchasing a property, and associates can advertise their services.
Anna Kear, UKCN Executive Director, said: “It was really important to us to give members access to all the information they could want or need to get started with their own Cohousing journey. Launching the new website was a big project for us, but Oxygen was great and helped us through every step, contributing fantastic ideas and expertise in making the complex look simple.”
Malcolm Buttel, Oxygen’s Digital Director, said: “The UKCN website was an interesting project for us to work on, as there was so much information to fit into one place. A lot of work went into ensuring the members area covered the necessary functions, and we are extremely happy with the finished product. We hope that UKCN members enjoy using the new site, and all of the new features available to them.”
