It’s not all work at our design agency. Exeter played host to this year’s Really Big Quiz on 8th May at the historic Exeter Corn Exchange.
Exeter PR coup
Oxygen’s two arms ― Creative and Publicity ― were pitted against each other in friendly competition. But our PR agency team unexpectedly outshone the design agency team by securing a place in the top 20 out of 67 teams. The 2013 event is the largest yet, with Oxygen having made the short trip from Tiverton to Exeter for the past 4 years’ competitions. Malcolm Buttel, head of the Creative division said: “It was fiercely fought, and we were feeling confident, but Publicity had the edge. We’ll be looking to even things up in 2014.”
The annual charity event, now in its tenth year, was co-hosted by Exeter-based chartered accountants Simpkins Edwards and Tozer’s solicitors. It raised almost £6000 for SOCOPS – Social Opportunities for children aged between 8-16 with High Functioning Autistic Spectrum Condition and their families. Oxygen was delighted to be able to support such a good cause, and one of the numerous Devon-based businesses helping to push the final amount up to this year’s high.
Sharon Roberts, marketing executive at Simpkins Edwards, who jointly hosted the quiz with Tozers, thanked the firms for their generosity adding that everyone involved had thoroughly enjoyed the evening. Councillor Stella Brock, the Lord Mayor of Exeter and SOCOPS were delighted with the result and confirmed that the money will be put to good use.
